EY has announced the start of this year’s Startup World Cup, which will offer startups a chance to network with influential investors in their industry and to win the $1 million investment prize.

Last year’s Luxembourg winner, Anote Music, made it to the top 10 of world startups, participating in the final rounds in San Francisco.

Startup World Cup is a worldwide startup competition and conference organised by global venture capital (VC) firm Pegasus Tech Ventures, headquartered in Silicon Valley. It comprises three phases: the regional finals (more than 70 regional competitions are scheduled all over the world) of which the winners will be pitching at a semi-final and then the Grand Finale in San Francisco in December 2023.

EY Luxembourg will be hosting the Luxembourg regional competition on 13 June 2023 and registrations are now open to startups. Along with its partners, EY aims to foster local innovation by facilitating the event and bringing a startup ecosystem together, giving Luxembourg startups exposure and access to international VCs and tech entrepreneurs.

On the day of the event, ten startups, pre-selected by local partners, will pitch to a jury composed of investors and serial entrepreneurs.

Startups in all domains, and at all stages, can apply. The startup must be established as a legal entity and cannot just be an idea. Applications must be submitted via this website: https://www.ey.com/en_lu/entrepreneurship/startup-world-cup.

The top startups which are selected as finalists to pitch on stage will be announced two weeks ahead of the event.

EY Luxembourg, through its EYnovation programme for startups and scaleups, is a long-standing partner of Pegasus Tech Ventures in the organisation of the Startup World Cup.
