Luxembourg's Minister Delegate for Digitalisation, Marc Hansen, announced yesterday at ICT Spring 2020 the upcoming creation of the Luxembourg GovTech Lab.
Minister Marc Hansen addressed the audience by video conference just before the Pitch Your StartUp competition. He explained the open innovation approach on which the Ministry of Digitalisation intends to rely. Through this approach, the ministry, together with the Government IT Centre (Centre des technologies de l'information de l'Etat -CTIE), intends to collect ideas, skills or innovative technologies from companies, startups, freelancers or researchers wishing to support and strengthen innovation within public services.
In this context, Minister Marc Hansen announced plans to create a "GovTech Lab": “We intend to accelerate technological innovation in public administration through events such as innovative challenges. These events will allow the CTIE to work in close collaboration with external actors in order to develop effective and innovative GovTech solutions. We are preparing our 'GovTech Lab'. Over the next few months, I will be announcing more details on this initiative which draws on innovative minds and creative startups to approach digital transformation from a more user-centric and efficient perspective”.
