Luxembourg's financial regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) has published a report of the banking sector in Luxembourg according to the number of banks per country.
As at 30 November 2015 there were a total of 143 banks operating in the Grand Duchy, with Germany having the most (26). France was 2nd with 15, Switzerland 3rd with 12, China 4th with 10 and Italy 5th with 10.
The UK has 8 banks operating in Luxembourg, Sweden 7 and the USA 6. Luxembourg is one of 4 countries with 5 banks operatign here.
