On Tuesday 11 July 2023, RazrTech Sarl, a Luxembourg-headquartered consumer web and mobile product company, announced the launch of its new software as a service-based social networking platform: Socially.

Launched in 2023 and incubated at the Luxembourg-City Incubator, this SaaS-based social networking platform is designed specifically for "niche" communities in Benelux and beyond. The platform was designed in Luxembourg with distributed teams in the United Kingdom, Europe and the rest of the world.

Socially allows users to create and manage their own social networking community platforms using a "powerful" web application and native iOS/Android applications "in a matter of days". The SaaS platform, built over a period of six years, currently counts over 250 features and ten payment gateway methods and is available in 20 languages.

Following the news of this launch, Chronicle.lu reached out to Margarita Uretii, Transformation Manager at RazrTech Sarl and at Socially, to learn more about the platform.

Chronicle.lu: What inspired RazrTech Sarl to create this new platform?

Margarita Uretii: RazrTech has been in the business of content and creator monetisation apart from powering various publications in Luxembourg and South Asia. We felt there was a need for communities who can be self-sustainable with respect to monetisation and hence we came up with Socially.

Chronicle.lu: How does Socially differ from other SaaS/social networking platforms?

Margarita Uretii: Socially differentiates itself from other SaaS platforms through its unique customisation features and user ownership model. The biggest differentiating factor I believe would be enabling the revenue model from day one, right from ad-engine, subscription, gamification and a virtual currency. With Socially's perpetual licence, which basically means handover of code, you become the owner of your own social media platform. You have the freedom to tailor it to your preferences and needs along with having our regular security and exciting updates like OPENAI-powered post generator for a period of three years. You can personalise the UX [user experience] as per your brand guidelines. Furthermore, Socially recognises that people may have preferences for certain existing social networks. As a result, the platform allows users to replicate the look and feel of other networks (social mode, professional mode and pictures mode, Twitter and music mode coming soon) if they desire. If you prefer the layout and functionality of a particular platform, you have the option to recreate it on Socially, giving you a familiar experience while still benefiting from the platform's customisation capabilities on web and mobile apps.

Chronicle.lu: What are some of the ways that Socially specifically helps "niche" communities to address challenges such as monetisation and growing their networks?

Margarita Uretii: The distinctiveness of Socially lies in its tailored approach as a dedicated social network platform, setting it apart from competition SaaS platforms. Its core essence revolves around empowering startups, companies and communities to establish their unique networking social network, customised to their specific needs. This comprehensive platform offers a range of functionalities, including chat capabilities, interactive gaming features, a subscription engine, an open AI-powered post generator, a replicate AI-powered image generator and more, providing users with a versatile and customisable experience. Users have the flexibility to select from three distinct operating modes: one is social, one is professional and one is picture mode, allowing them to align the platform with their desired objectives. Socially serves as a transformative solution for businesses, facilitating the seamless transition into a vibrant and engaging networking hub tailored precisely to their requirements.

Chronicle.lu: What are some examples of these "niche" communities/clients (sector, etc.)?

Margarita Uretii: Socially serves seven clients globally so far with communities built around sustainability, beauty, crypto, women, fitness, etc. Offering perpetual purchase licences gives startups, businesses the edge and opportunity to raise funds with ease.

Chronicle.lu: Any plans to expand to other markets in the future or is the goal to focus primarily on Benelux?

Margarita Uretii: The inherent versatility of our socially-driven network platform enables effortless market expansion without geographical constraints from its inception. Our esteemed clientele extends beyond the Benelux region, encompassing industry leaders in Germany, Singapore and various other locations. We take great pride in the widespread consumer adoption of our product across diverse industries and regions. Nevertheless, we remain steadfast in acknowledging our roots as a product "Designed in Luxembourg", while embracing a global approach to development and deployment. Our platform's success lies in its ability to transcend borders, fostering connectivity and resonating with users worldwide, all while embodying the spirit of craftsmanship and dedication that is truly global.
