Luxembourg recruitment firm Anderson Wise celebrated its fifth anniversary with a special outdoor evening event at Restaurant L’Hêtre Beim Musée in Luxembourg-Ville on Tuesday 17 September 2024.

In addition to the speeches, guests had the opportunity to network over a range of hot and cold dishes and drinks, as well as picturesque views over the Grund district, and received their own paper silhouette portraits - courtesy of British artist Sarah Head.

In his speech, Darren Robinson, Managing Partner at Anderson Wise, reflected on the firm's journey over the past five years. He noted how they had doubled their team from seven to fourteen people (with a combined nine nationalities), together counting more than 200 years of recruitment expertise, and had helped some 5,000 professionals find new careers. He also touched on some of the social impact and "profit for good" initiatives in which Anderson Wise has been involved, from helping to reduce ocean-bound plastic (by partnering with Ocean Bottle) to planting trees in Madagascar (together with the NGO Graine de Vie) and supporting children with cancer - Anderson Wise donated another €5,000 to Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner on Tuesday evening.

The anniversary celebration was also the occasion for the recruitment firm to announce a new strategic partnership with The Henka Institute to offer Leadership Advisory Services. The aim is to "transform businesses by harnessing the power of talent, leadership and organisational effectiveness". Rachel Treece, CEO of The Henka Institute, stated that this "sustainable" partnership would "support the community". Rachel and Darren later added that the partnership was about "empowering organisations to achieve excellence".

ADEM Director Isabelle Schlesser - filling in for Labour Minister Georges Mischo - then delivered a speech about employment trends in Luxembourg. She highlighted several statistics from recent STATEC reports, noting that there are challenges still to come, for example a predicted slowdown in employment growth and an increase in unemployment - despite the fact that Luxembourg witnessed a rather fast economic recovery post-COVID. The market has changed and the demand for specialists remains high, she noted, adding later that it was "critical" to attract (and retain) talent from abroad. She mentioned the importance of upskilling and reskilling to adapt to new technologies. Isabelle concluded by emphasising the value of mutually beneficial private-public partnerships, and by wishing Anderson Wise, a private recruitment firm, a happy anniversary.

Following the Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner cheque presentation, the anniversary celebrations continued with networking over food and drinks.
