On Wednesday 26 February 2025, the ADEM employment agency organised a first "Jobday" dedicated to the agricultural sector at the European Convention Center Luxembourg (ECCL) in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

In a press release, ADEM announced that the first edition of the "Jobday Agriculture", organised together with the Luxembourg Chamber of Agriculture, brought together fifteen agricultural and wine-growing companies from the Grand Duchy, to actively recruit new talent in a rapidly evolving sector.

ADEM added that 480 jobseekers, selected by the agency, had the opportunity to meet employers looking for varied profiles, covering a wide range of agricultural professions, including agricultural worker, groom, stable worker, picker, fence builder, mechanic and viticulture worker. The Jobday was also open to anyone looking for a new job and interested in the agricultural sector.

Luxembourg’s Minister of Labour, Georges Mischo, said that "this 'Jobday Agriculture' perfectly illustrates our desire to bring job seekers closer to opportunities in the labour market. Agriculture is an essential sector that offers varied and sustainable prospects, and we are proud to support this initiative that benefits both employers and workers".

Participants were able to interact directly with employers and discover the many professional opportunities that agriculture offers. ADEM said this first edition marked an important step in connecting jobseekers and companies in the sector, thus helping to meet recruitment needs and promote agricultural professions in Luxembourg.

Martine Hansen, Luxembourg’s Minister of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture, recalled that "Luxembourg agriculture needs talent to meet the challenges of tomorrow. This first Jobday Agriculture not only demonstrated the interest and dynamism of the sector, but also the tremendous diversity of the different professions related to agriculture and viticulture. The meeting between employers and future professionals is a key step in ensuring the sustainability and attractiveness of our agricultural professions”.
