The second edition of the Car Avenue Invitational Golf Cup by Henri Leconte & Friends will take place at Kikuoka Country Club in Lenningen in southeastern Luxembourg on Wednesday 28 September 2022.

French tennis champion Henri Leconte, who is also passionate about golf, and the Golf Planet Events team had the idea of organising a tournament bringing together golf celebrities and enthusiasts in Luxembourg during a visit to Eurogolf Luxembourg.

The first invitational golf tournament took place in September 2021 and raised a total of €2,850 for Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner, a Luxembourg charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer.

This year, a select group of 20 of Henri's friends will each compete alongside three amateurs in their teams. The game formula, the four-man scramble and the shotgun start, aim to add to the conviviality of the event. Many activities, both on the course and around the 19th hole sponsored by Bernard Massard, will spice up the game.

Participants will have the chance to meet, share a round of golf and exchange anecdotes with top athletes, former champions and personalities from the world of media and television. Among the personalities who will join Henri Leconte are some world champions in their respective disciplines, such as French Karate World Champion Christophe Pinna. Also present will be a few world record holders, such as retired French pole vaulter Philippe Houvion. Belgian comedian Bruno Taloche and the Saive brothers, who have long dominated world table tennis, will also participate, as well as French actors Jean-Pascal Lacoste and Philippe Bas. Among the female personalities present will be the young aerobatic champion Mélanie Astles from France, retired French swimmer Esther Baron, retired French alpine skier Nathalie Bouvier and Belgian judokate Christel Deliège.

The Car Avenue Invitational Golf Cup by Henri Leconte & Friends will once again raise money for Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner.
