First proposed in 2014, the Schöttermarial Building Project in Kirchberg is for 50,000 m2 comprising both residential and commercial space, with 500 new apartments in 5 multi-storey blocks of 6-10 floors; it is to be located at the junction of Bld Prince félix and Rue des Maraichers, beside the Michel Wagner football pitch/stadium.

On Tuesday, a residents meeting was organised at which Luxembourg city mayor, Lydie Polfer, and Alderman Sam Tanson presented details of the new Plan d'Aménagement Général (PAG). One of the original claims by residents was that it will reduce the quality of live and the environment of their neighbourhood, and a specific concern was that just one parking space has been allotted per apartment; a more recent concern has been raised by the Gaelic Sports Club Luxembourg (GSCL) which currently use the stadium.

The Syndicat d’Intérêts Locaux Kirchberg (SILK), represented by Paul Reeff, President, and Roland Harras, Secretary, succeeded in getting 600 signatures on a petition in opposition to the project which was hand-delivered to the Ville de Luxembourg in May 2014.

At Thursday's meeting about the Schöttermarial project, Ronan Caroll of the Gaelic Sports Club Luxembourg (GSCL) explained that the club uses the Stade Michel Wagner in Weimerskirsch which would be converted into apartments. He asked what the replacement facilities would be for the hundreds of players of minority sports that currently use that facility seven days a week, aged from 4 years up to adults.

In response, Mayor Lydie Polfer stated "I assure you we will find a solution to replace it somewhere else". She stated that by the time the plan will be underway, the ville de Luxembourg will have found another solution.
