On Tuesday 7 June 2022, Luxembourg's national men's football team played their second game in the UEFA Nations League 2022, League C, Group 1, winning away to the Faroe Islands (#124 in the FIFA world rankings).

The game followed Saturday's 2-0 away win over Lithuania (the group's lowest ranked team at #138) in Vilnius, thanks to two goals from striker Danel Sinani, the first just before half-time on 44 minutes, and the second with just 12 minutes left on the clock, on 78 minutes.

On Tuesday, Luxembourg played their second home game of the campaign, away to the Faroe Islands. Luxembourg's midfielder Gerson Rodrigues scored the only goal of the game in the 74th minute with a penalty. The game had been trundling along until the home team had, not one, but two players sent off in quick succession, in the 68th minute when René Joensen was sent off for a dangerous tackle on Luxembourg's Oelsen, and Solvi Vatnhamar on 80 minutes for a second foul in quick succession (he also conceded the penalty).

Luxembourg have now six points from six in their first two away games, both to opposition ranked lower than the Red Devils (Luxembourg is currently ranked #94 by FIFA).

Luxembourg's next two games are both at home, first up against Turkey (FIFA ranking 43) this coming Saturday 11 June, and then against the Faroe Islands on Tuesday 14 June, with their remaining two games in September.

For now, though, Luxembourg remain unbeaten in the UEFA Nations League 2022.
