With FC Dudelange recording a 2-1 win away to Shkendija of Macedonia on Tuesday evening courtesy of goals by Bettaieb (64 mins) and Sinani (68 mins, pen.) to counteract a 7th minute opening goal by the home side, it was the turn of Progrès Niederkorn on Thursday evening to play their UEFA Europa League second qualifying round, 1st leg match away to Glasgow Rangers.

The Scottish side did not have fond memories of their last visit to Luxembourg two seasons ago when they were knocked out by F91 Dudelange. Their fortunes improved somewhat and the recorded a 2-0 win against the Luxembourg side, courtest of goals from Ayodele-Aribo (20 mins) and Ojo (54 mins).

Also playing on Thursday evening was Jeunesse Esch who went down 1-0 at home to Portuguese side Vitória SC, who scored in the 4th minute of added time at the end of the second half. That match was played at the Stade Josy Barthel in Luxembourg city.
