Filmreakter, a non-profit organisation bring together young Luxembourgish filmmakers, has launched a call for participants in the third edition of its "Lost Weekend" 48-hour film challenge, which is taking place from 4 to 6 March 2022.

Filmmakers of all ages and levels are invited to write, shoot, edit and deliver a film in no more than 48 hours as part of this challenge.

Registration opens on Saturday 29 January 2022 at 06:00 on www.lostweekend.lu. Everyone is welcome and participation is free, but capacities are limited.

Following registration, participants have until March to assemble their team, either from their own network of friends or with the help of the dedicated online forum.

On Friday 4 March 2022 at 19:00, the participants will meet at Cercle Cité in Luxembourg-Ville, where this year's theme, line of diaolgue and prop will be announced at 20:00 sharp. Each team will then draw a genre out of a hat before setting off to write, shoot and edit their film.

Participants must deliver their finished five-minute film no later than exactly 48 hours later, i.e. on Sunday 6 March 2022 at 20:00, at Café Interview in Luxembourg-Ville.

After three days of well-deserved rest, all teams will meet again on Wednesday 9 March 2022 at 21:00 for a public screening (plus a live stream) at Ciné Utopia in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg, where all qualified films will be up for one of several awards. Among them is the coveted "Lost Weekend Coffee Pot", awarded by the five-person jury.

Depending on the COVID-19 regulations in place, this screening may be moved to a digital streaming platform.

This project is a Filmreakter asbl collaboration with Luxembourg City Film Festival 2022 (3 to 13 March 2022) and is made possible through the support of the Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte.
