Luxembourg co-production "Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn" has won the Golden Bear for best film at the 71st Berlin Film Festival (Berlinale).

Romanian director Radu Jude's feature film was awarded the Golden bear at the Berlinale earlier today. This marks the first time that a Luxembourg co-production has won the Berlin Film Festival's most prestigious award.

"Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn" was co-produced by Luxembourg company Paul Thiltges Distributions with Romania, the Czech Republic and Croatia. Paul Thiltges and Adrien Chef (Paul Thiltges Distributions) notably ensured, in partnership with the Philophon and Espera Productions studios, the film's post-production image, sound and special effects.

The film will be screened on 10 March 2021 at Kinepolis during the 11th edition of the Luxembourg City Film Festival (LuxFilmFest) as part of the "Films made in / with Luxembourg" programme. It will also be streamed on 11 March 2021 as part of the online version of the festival.

Due to the COVID-19 health crisis, the Berlinale is being held this year in two stages. The European Film Market and the official competition have been taking place online from 1 March until today, which marked the awarding of the last prizes by the international jury. The winning films will then be presented to the public from 9 to 20 June as part of a special event.

Synopsis: Following the broadcast of a video of a teacher having sex with her husband, the students' parents call a meeting. The film explores the intellectual, moral and political confusion of our contemporary societies, particularly in post-totalitarian Eastern Europe.
