
At the 28th European Film Awards on Saturday evening in Berlin, Germany, both Song of the Sea and The Brand New Testament were among the winners; both these films received finding from Film Fund Luxembourg.
- Song of the Sea: directed by Tomm Moore; Luxembourg's involvement was through Mélusine Productions and Studio 352 in Contern, with Stéphan Roelants as co-producer. Studio 352 was involved in the storyboard layout, the story background and the animation itself. It also received an Oscar nomination in 2014 for best animated feature film. It has received a total of 11 awards and 16 nominations. In his acceptance speech on stage last night, Tomm Moore thanked his co-producers and stressed that: "This tale from Celtic legends is the result of a great work of European co-production which I am particularly proud."
- The Brand New Testament: Juliette Films in Luxembourg was involved in the production, with David Grumbach co-producer. the film has also recently received a nomination for the Golden Globes.
More than 3,000 members of the European Film Academy – filmmakers from across Europe – voted for this year’s European Film Awards.
