A series of films made by Luxembourg-based production company Iris Productions have been gaining international acclaim ahead of their release.

'Sunset Song', a coproduction between Iris Productions, Hurricane Films and SellOut Pictures was directed by Terence Davies and stars Agyness Deyn and Peter Mullan. The film, which recounts the story of an exceptional woman, Chris Guthrie, in the poor rural community in which she lives, where life is difficult and the community must face industrial upheaval.

The film has been selected to be showcased for the Toronto International Film Festival on 13, 14, 15 and 20 September, in the category of 'Special Presentations', as well as in 'Official Competition' at the San Sebastian Film Festival on 19 and 20 September and at the BFI London Film Festival on 15 and 18 October 2015.

Another Iris Productions co-production, 'Colonia', has also been selected in the category of 'Special Presentatins at the Toronto Film Festival, as well as in the category of 'Gala Premieres' at Zurich Film Festival.

Directed by Florian Gallenberger and produced by Majestic Films, Rat Pack Filmproduktion, Rezo Productions and Fred Films, in association with ProSieben and Sky, the film highlights young couple Daniel (Daniel Brühl) and Lena (Emma Watson) as they are arrested by militias during the Chilean military coup of 1973.

Also selected for the Zurich Film Festival in the 'Gala Prèmieres' category was 'The Dark Side of the Moon' from director Stephan Rick, starring Moritz Bleibtreu, Jürgen Prochnow and Nora von Waldstätten. The psychological thriller follows the moment that the life of prominent corporate lawyer Urs Blank changes as he meets young hippie Lucille and is introduced to the concept of metamorphosis.

The film, due for international release on 14 January 2016, was the result of a co-production between Iris Productions, Port-au-Prince Films and Kultur Produktions, SWR, ARD Degeto and Film1 in collaboration with Arctic Pictures and Lailaps Pictures.

Iris Group-produced 'Baby(a)lone' has also had a lot of faith placed in it. In addition to representing Luxembourg at the Oscars, the film has been selected for the 21st Quinzaine du Cinéma Francophone on 6 October, the Francophone Film Awards from 23 November to 2 December, the European Union Film Festival from 20 November to 10 December and the International Film Festival of India from 20-30 November 2015.

'Baby(a)lone', directed by Donato Rotunno, follows two thirteen-year-olds, played by Joshua Defays and Charlotte Elsen, who have experienced too much in their young lives. As they gravitate towards each other, they each struggle to carve out their own piece of happiness.
