On Tuesday 8 September 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported on two violent incidents that occurred in Mondorf-les-Bains and Luxembourg-Gare the previous day.
At around 16:50 on Monday 7 September 2026, several people became involved in a physical altercation on Avenue Frantz Clement in Mondorf-les-Bains. According to initial information, the incident followed a road dispute which later continued outside a local establishment.
The altercation reportedly escalated, with several people striking one another, before one person pulled out a cutter, injuring two people. The suspect subsequently fled on foot across the border into France but was located shortly afterwards.
Emergency services took both injured individuals to hospital for treatment. According to initial information, their injuries were not life-threatening. Police seized the cutter and other evidence.
Later that evening, police received a report of another violent incident on Place de Paris in Luxembourg-Gare. A man reportedly approached a woman without warning and punched her in the face. She fell to the ground, sustaining injuries to her face and arms, and subsequently received medical treatment.
Officers pursued the fleeing suspect on foot and apprehended him shortly afterwards. He subsequently underwent a medical examination and was placed in an appropriate facility.
Police filed a report regarding both incidents.
