This June, the Fête de la Musique will be making its return to the Grand Duchy for its 15th edition, bringing with it 400 free concerts over five days.
On Saturday 18 June 2016, no less than 70 local and international artists will take to the 13 stages dotted throughout the town of Dudelange to perform a variety of musical styles. This year features the addition of a stage in the Parc Emile Mayrisch dedicated to infants, including a musical rally for children, whilst the stages of the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville will highlight international artists before the "After-FDLM-Party" for electro fans ready to party well into the night.
For those more at home with heavy sounds, the Rockhal will be hosting the 6th edition of its Proufsall Session on Friday 17 June 2016, where three metal groups will be performing on the Floor stage.
Meanwhile, the municipality of Kayl will be offering "Faites de la Musique" ("Make Music") workshops that same day at the Schungfabrik in Tétange. Students from school classes and halfway houses will be able to discover different musical instruments, with harmony and mandolin groups from Kayl and Tétange. an outdoor concert will be held on Tuesday 21 June 2016.
Finally, the Harmonie Municipale de Differdange will be playing fro six hours straight on a mobile bandstand during a "Tour" of the city on Saturday 18 June, offering 10 concerts comprising a diverse programme of Luxembourg tunes and international hits.
