Across ten days and three locations, the 7th edition of the Fundamental Monodrama Festival will bring seventeen shows and ten creations to the Luxembourg public.
The festival returns to the Grand Duchy from 10 to 19 June 2016 with a new floral visual identity, using the flower as a symbol for contrasting characteristics from soft and sweet to bitter or poisonous.
The Banannefabrik will provide the headquarters for the festival, with other performances at the Théâtre des Casemates and the Kulturhaus Niederanven.
The programme will feature political manifestos, questioning the position of women in Islamic countries, whilst Death Journey tells of exile on the Balkans route and Sea Sick describes the slow death of the oceans.
Distinguished guests will also be in attendance, including Moroccan Islamic scholar and author of "In the Eyes of Heaven", Rachid Benzine; German 2007 "Comedian of the Year" as selected by "Theater Heute" magazine, Judith Rosmair; and Belgian regular at the Avignon Festival, Benjamin Verdonck.
This year will also include the second edition of the "MonoLabo" laboratory evening dedicated to ongoing works signed by young artists.
