Lët’z Refashion has announced it will host a sustainable fashion conference and networking lunch on Wednesday 22 April 2026 from 12:00 at Cercle Cite in Luxembourg-Ville.
The event, titled “Stitch in Time: is Europe finally getting serious about textile waste?” will feature a debate exploring textile waste and how new EU textile regulations are shifting responsibility onto producers — and what this means for Luxembourg's path toward circular fashion.
The sustainable fashion advocacy organisation highlighted that in 2024 Luxembourg threw away 8,129 tonnes of clothing (12 kg per person), with more than half being shipped abroad. One of the destinations for this textile waste is Ghana, which receives 182 tonnes of second-hand clothes every day, the majority of which ends up in landfills.
The debate will welcome Yayra Agbofah from The Revival, a non-profit organisation based in Accra, Ghana, which is focused on environmental action through circular economy and textile waste reduction, to discuss the issues this form of waste management and over-consumption causes in the country.
The debate will also include contributions from Clara Cherblanc from the Fédération de la Mode Circulaire (France), who will share good practices and what the new EU rules mean for the sector; and Claire Ahlborn from Luxembourg's Ministry of Environment, Climate and Biodiversity, who will bring clarity on what to expect in Luxembourg.
The debate will be followed by a networking lunch.
Agenda:
• 12:00 - welcome
• 12:15 - conference
• 13:15 - networking lunch
• 14:00 - event concludes
The event is free to attend; however, registration is required.
