Luxembourg's Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity has announced the extension of the "Klimabonus Mobilitéit" financial aid scheme.
The Government Council (Cabinet) has adopted a draft bill to extend the financial aid scheme for promoting zero-emission road vehicles ("Klimabonus Mobilitéit") beyond 30 June 2026.
The ministry noted that the gradual transition to electric mobility is essential to achieving Luxembourg's energy and climate objectives. To continue supporting households and businesses in the ecological transition, the government is extending the "Klimabonus Mobilitéit" scheme until 30 June 2030.
Serge Wilmes, Luxembourg's Minister of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity, emphasised that "this extension offers individuals and businesses greater security and visibility, allowing them to plan their investments in sustainable mobility with more peace of mind and confidence."
The tiered system of financial aid based on environmental criteria and social parameters - in effect since 1 October 2024 for 100% electric cars and vans, as well as used cars, quadricycles, motorcycles and mopeds, cargo bikes, bicycles and e-bikes - will be maintained.
To further facilitate access to electromobility, a pre-financing scheme for subsidies will be introduced for new vehicles purchased by individuals from 1 January 2027.
