On Wednesday 3 March 2021, Luxembourg's Minister Delegate for Digitalisation, Marc Hansen, met the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Luxembourg, Cornelis Jan Bansema, as part of a courtesy visit.

The meeting focussed on current events and the importance of digitalisation, following the acceleration of digital transformation within society. The Minister Delegate and Dutch Ambassador agreed that the momentum generated must now be maintained and that it represents an opportunity for the achievement of a digital government.

Common interests for new technologies and innovation within the state were also at the centre of this exchange, given the respective commitments of the two countries in this area, such as the creation of a GovTech Lab in Luxembourg in November 2020.

The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss the "coalition of the willing", implemented by the Netherlands, which aims to accelerate and stimulate the digital transformation of the public sector and which brings together Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France and Portugal.
