The Mexican Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg, Juan José Gómez Camacho presented the honourable distinction of “Mexican Order of the Aztec Eagle”, on behalf of the Mexican government, to Lucien Emringer, Honorary Consul of Mexico in Luxembourg.
During the badge ceremony, Ambassador Gómez Camacho thanked Mr. Emringer for his initiative in the past twelve years, serving Mexico abroad, as well as for his commitment to strengthening economic, political and cultural relations between Mexico and the Grand-Duchy.
Mr. Emringer had a distinguished career within the EU institutions, being a part of important company boards in Luxembourg, as well as being the engine behind organisations and associations promoting social and cultural integration.
Since his appointment as Honorary Consul in Luxembourg in 2003, Lucien Emringer stood out for his effective management, and his commitment in different activities and functions organised by the Mexican Embassy, particularly during the organisation of Mexico’s National Day and the Mexican stand at the International Bazar, as well as for his promotion of business missions for Luxembourg companies to Mexico.
The Mexican Order of the Aztec Eagle, was created in December 1936, and is the highest distinction that can be awarded to foreign nationals, recognising them for their merits and services in favour of Mexico and humanity. The honour is also a form of bringing Mexico closer to other nations. It is the single distinction awarded by the national government, which is why Mexicans value it greatly.
