Luxembourg's Ministry of Education, Childhood and Youth and the municipality of Schifflange have announced their decision to convert the former Bestgen millhouse (Bestgensmillen) into a sociotherapeutic centre (Centre socio-thérapeutique - CST).

On Wednesday 26 January 2022, the ministry and the municipality discussed the future operation of the former Bestgen millhouse in Schifflange. Following a recent technical study of the building and an analysis of the needs of the childcare sector, the two parties agreed to install the CST managed by the non-profit organisation Telos Education at this old millhouse. The building will be transformed, renovated and equipped to meet its new mission.

A CST is a day care centre for children in primary education who are in school-related and / or psychosocial distress and who temporarily require reinforced educational support. Schooling is provided by the Centre pour le développement socio-émotionnel (CDSE), a skills centre for national education. Currently, there are seven structures of this type in Luxembourg.

The restaurant currently located at the Bestgen millhouse will remain open.

This agreement marks the desire of the municipality of Schifflange, the service providers of the CST (Telos Education asbl) and the Education Ministry to work together on the realisation and implementation of this project.
