On Monday 2 November 2026, Luxembourg’s Ministry for Research and Higher Education reported that nearly 14,000 visitors attended the 40th edition of the Student Fair at the Coque in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

The Student Fair, organised by the Ministry for Research and Higher Education in collaboration with ACEL (Association of Luxembourg Student Associations), took place on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 October.

The ministry said that with nearly 14,000 visitors over the two days, this anniversary edition, marked by its return to the capital and an expanded concept, was “a resounding success”.

This year, the Student Fair took another step forward in its development by offering a broader approach to educational and career guidance. In addition to higher education opportunities in Luxembourg and abroad, visitors were also able to discover various opportunities for involvement in associations and civic activities, as well as the prospects offered by the professional world.

Organised around four main thematic areas – “Studies | Luxembourg”, “Studies | International”, “Youth Engagement” and “The World of Work” – more than 180 exhibitors from seventeen countries were present to inform and advise young people on their future choices.

Higher education institutions, associations and student organisations, youth organisations, companies and representatives from the professional world were all able to engage directly with visitors. Visitors had the opportunity to find out about study programmes, admission requirements and student life, as well as careers, professional prospects and the different forms of engagement available to young people.

The services of the Ministry for Research and Higher Education were also present to answer visitors’ questions, particularly regarding procedures for pursuing higher education in Luxembourg or abroad, government financial assistance for higher education, and the recognition of qualifications.

During her visit to the fair, Luxembourg’s Minister for Research and Higher Education, Stéphanie Obertin, spoke with numerous exhibitors and young visitors.

“I am delighted by the great success of this 40th edition of the Student Fair. The high attendance demonstrates just how much young people need places where they can exchange ideas and obtain information to prepare for their future. With our new concept, we wanted to offer them a broader overview of the opportunities available to them, whether in higher education, civic engagement or the professional world. Direct discussions with exhibitors allow them to discover new possibilities and make informed choices,” said Minister Obertin.

This anniversary edition also provided an opportunity to look back at the 40-year history of the Student Fair and how it has evolved over the decades. A reception held at the Coque on Thursday 29 October, attended by representatives of the fair’s partners and exhibitors, among others, marked the occasion.

With its renewed concept, diverse range of exhibitors and strong public attendance, the 2026 Student Fair has reaffirmed its position as an essential event for providing information and guidance to young people in Luxembourg.
