The figures for the start of the new academic year 2018-2019 have once again shown the success of international classes in Luxembourg public schools.

International classes have experienced an increased number of enrollments in both primary and secondary public schools in Luxembourg, from 1,621 students in 2017 to 2,206 students in 2018. Meanwhile, enrollments in international classes in private schools have remained stable (12,197 pupils in 2018 compared to 12,152 students in 2017).

Such developments indicate that the national education system has successfully created a real public alternative to private offers and thus helped to meet a concrete need among the school population in Luxembourg.

It should also be noted that the number of students in the classical secondary education sector has increased for the first time since 2012-2013.
