The Fondation Jeunes Scientifiques Luxembourg (FJSL) organised the 14th edition of the Luxembourg International Science Expo (LISE), from 4 to 8 November 2024, at the Geesseknäppchen Forum in Luxembuorg-Hollerich.
LISE is a non-competitive fair that brought together young national and international scientists, including winners of the Jonk Fuerscher (Young Researcher) competitions from home and abroad, for a week of educational activities, cultural discoveries and exchanges with the general public.
More than 100 students from 24 countries gathered to present their research and innovation projects, while more than 500 students from ten Luxembourg secondary schools attended the fair.
A variety of team-building and networking activities to encourage international scientific cooperation was organised throughout the festival. These included visits to industrial and artistic sites in the Minett region, culinary tastings, heritage and (astro)photographic exhibitions, film screenings, roundtable discussions, scientific/technical presentations and workshops, escape games, challenges, quizzes and festive evenings.
On Wednesday 6 November, Crown Prince Guillaume, patron of FJSL, attended the fair and met with participants.
Michèle Weber (Fonds National de la Recherche) hosted the closing ceremony in which honorary certificates were presented to participants.
