Luxembourg's Artemysia Theatre has announced that, to mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day, it will present a poignant reading of The Investigation on Friday 24 January 2025.
The performance is inspired by the groundbreaking work of playwright Peter Weiss.
As the theatre explained, The Investigation delves into the harrowing testimonies from the Frankfurt Auschwitz Trials of the 1960s, shedding light on the darkest chapters of human history. While freely inspired by Weiss's original text, this reading by Artemysia Theatre brings a fresh perspective, combining the raw power of his themes with a contemporary lens, emphasising the enduring need for justice and remembrance.
"With this reading, we aim to confront the weight of humanity's darkest moments and remind ourselves of the power of truth and memory to shape a more conscious and compassionate future," said Raffaella D’Angelo, Artistic Director of Artemysia Theatre.
The event, performed in English, will take place on Friday 24 January at 20:00, at Théâtre le 10 in Luxembourg-Neudorf.
Tickets are priced at €15. Reservations can be made via tel: 661-448-824 or via email: teatro.artemisia@gmail.com. Further details can be found at https://artemysia.jimdofree.com/
