A jury has selected the theatrical piece 'Une Liaison Pornographique' ('A Pornographic Affair') by Philippe Blasband to represent Luxembourg at the Festival OFF d'Avignon 2017.

The jury was appointed by the Luxembourg Federation of Theatre Professionals (Theater Federatioun) and was composed of Simone Beck, Stéphane Gilbart, Vinciane Koch, Janina Strötgen and Pablo Chimienti. It was this panel that was designated the task of deciding on one francophone Luxembourg theatrical production to send to the Festival OFF d'Avignon.

It was the Marja-Leena Juncker's staging of 'Une Liaison pornographique', a production of the Théâtre du Centaure, that eventually won the jury over in its original and delicate exploration of the theme of love. The jury was also taken in by the inventive approach to the scenery and by the nuanced character portrayal performed by actors, Nicole Dogué and Francesco Mormino.

The Festival OFF d'Avignon is one of the largest gathering of independent theatre companies in the world in terms of the diversity of its cultural offers. The 'Off' Festival is organised by a non-profit organisation and puts on pieces in theatres, schools, on the street and in all other places suitable for performing.
