On Sunday 20 September the Theater Federatioun will celebrated the opening of the new upcoming theatre season at the Abbaye de Neumünster which will once again be transformed into a giant stage to offer its decor to a variety of shows.
This year, visitors will be able to preview ten new theatrical and dance productions with small excerpts, readings and project presentations giving an overview of the forthcoming programme.
This season will feature productions from Kulturhaus Niederanven, TNL, Compagnie Ghislain Roussel, CUBE 521, Neimënster, CAPe, TROIS C-L, Mierscher Kulturhaus, Independent Little Lies, TOL and Kaleidoskop-Theater, many of which will be present on Sunday to provide members of the public with information on their programmes and activities.
As well as the opportunity to talk with artists and theatre professionals of the Luxembourg scene, visitors will also be able to sift through costumes on sale; attend the conference 'Who is Othello?' organised by Dr. Nathalie Bloch of the University of Luxembourg; calm their nerves about public speaking through a workshop demonstrating various theatre techniques; and learn about body, voice and movement work in the 'Theatrullala' workshop for children.
Street theatre artists from Luxembourg and further afield will also be present throughout the day to continually captivate the public. Luisa Bevilacqua will invite youngsters on a journey of the mind over a cup of tea; the Tralala Splatch Company will invite spectators into its caravan of wonders; and les Micro Pièces de Pascale Noé Adam will create absurd situations with its minimalist puppet theatre; whilst Hannah Mah, Lydia Oermann and Trèves-Punkt Reed Quintett will explore the symbiosis of dance and music, promiscuity and remoteness, weightlessness and gravity, melancholy and gaiety.
Should visitors get hungry in between activities, a gourmet village will be provided offering Lebanese, Portuguese and Breton specialities.
