On Sunday 20 April 2025, the Restaurant du Château Schengen will reopen to the public, marking its revival after eleven years of closure.
According to the press release, the Restaurant du Château Schengen is a landmark venue inviting guests to experience the “timeless elegance” of a grand historic residence, featuring “refined” salons and an “exceptional” view of the Moselle river.
The venue follows a tradition of “generous, gourmet cuisine”, prepared on-site using carefully selected local ingredients. For the occasion, a refined Easter menu will be offered, combining seasonal products and culinary inspiration: quail egg, scallops or asparagus as starters; lamb shank or pork tenderloin as main courses; and a caramelised apple in a chocolate shell for dessert.
To celebrate this reopening, a “special tasting evening” will take place on Thursday 24 April 2025, during which each dish promises to be “an invitation to rediscover traditional flavours with a modern touch”. This tasting menu is expected to showcase the chef’s expertise and highlight the “authenticity” and “richness” of local products, as stated in the press release.
It also marks the reopening of the hotel, following more than a decade of closure and a major renovation campaign.
