Italian cyclist Antonio Tiberi has won the Škoda Tour de Luxembourg 2024.

The 84th edition of this international cycling race took place across the Grand Duchy from Wednesday 18 to Sunday 22 September 2024. 114 riders representing nineteen teams covered more than 700 km.

The winner of the final stage on Sunday was French cyclist David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ), although Antonio Tiberi (Bahrain Victorious), who came 4th in this stage, emerged as the overall winner of the race.

As reported by the race organisers, a breakaway group of nineteen riders formed shortly after the start on Sunday. After about 60 km, the race was less heated and three riders eventually broke away, although they went on to fall behind in the last 30 km. In the final lap, David Gaudu, Antonio Tiberi, Quinn Simmons (US; Lidl-Trek) and Jordan Jegat (France; TotalEnergies) successfully broke away and retained the lead until the end.

Antonio Tiberi finished the final stage in 4th place, behind David Gaudu (1st), Quinn Simmons (2nd) and Jordan Jegat (3rd). However, the Italian rider managed to snatch the overall leader's yellow jersey, after overtaking the previous leader, Dutch cyclist Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck).

Quoted by the organisers, Antonio Tiberi said: "It's amazing to take the overall win. I'm really happy. From the first day, I knew I was in good shape. After finishing second in the time trial, I realised the overall victory was within reach. Luckily, everything worked out. We knew it would be a tough stage with many attacks. I was also in the big breakaway group at the start. Then I waited for the final lap."

Last year's overall winner, Swiss rider Marc Hirschi (UAE Team Emirates), placed 6th overall in the Škoda Tour de Luxembourg 2024.

The best-performing Luxembourg rider overall was Mats Wenzel (National Team Luxembourg) in 10th place.
