As part of the Esch2022 - European Capital of Culture project, the fourteenth European Youth Music Festival has opened the summer of music with 350 concerts, 100 ensembles and 2,500 young musicians from eighteen European countries.
From June and throughout the summer, the European Capital of Culture celebrates music in all its colors and forms. In addition to the already established festivals - with prestigious partners such as the Rockhal and the Francofolies - a couple of brand new festivals are being launched in the south of Luxembourg and the neighboring communes.
In addition to the usual concert halls, music will take over streets and unusual places: brownfield sites, nature reserves, former blast furnaces, public transport, parks, the banks of the famous Alzette river or on the occasion of impromptu picnics.
In addition, young and old are invited to make music themselves with numerous workshops. Singing together, discovering new instruments, tinkering and tinkering together - music should connect as a universal language and be accessible to everyone.
