Mamer was the venue for a press breakfast this morning at the Kinneksbond, the state-of-the art cultural centre designed by Luxembourg architect, Jim Clemes, and which opened in January 2010.
President Jean Morby presented the accounts for 2012 and the cultural programme up to the end of July 2013, as well as a snapshot of things to come up to the end of the year.
Last year, a total of 83 events were hosted at Kinneksbond, of which 80% were in the cultural domain. They attracted a total of 18,897 visitors, a 20%
increase on 2011 figures. As in 2011, the programming at Kinneksbond was designed to appeal to as large a cross-section of the population as possible, both
regarding ages and social background. In addition, the cultural centre provides a platform for young and amateur artists, as well as professional productions.
