The United Nations has dedicated 3 December to people with disabilities. The States Parties and the European Union take the opportunity, each year, to organise awareness-raising actions against disability discrimination.
In Luxembourg, Info-Handicap has been committed since its creation to coordinate national actions through mainstream activities, press campaigns and high-level conferences. Despite substantial government support, Info-Handicap is responsible for collecting the funds crucial to finance these events and, in reference to its commitment not to compete with its 57 member associations in terms of fundraising, Info-Handicap’s awareness-raising campaigns rely mainly on the financial participation of the partners involved and on the sponsorship of companies such as Docler Holding.
"We are very proud to support Info-Handicap for the second consecutive year on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and more specifically their inclusive society project," said Karoly Papp, Co-founder & CEO of Docler Holding.
"There is a whole series of measures and tools to promote the professional integration of disabled employees, and yet the unemployment of people with disabilities remains a major challenge. This project is part of an approach aimed at influencing the functioning of our society to work towards a better inclusion of people with disabilities”, explained Vera Bintener, Coordinator of the legal information service of Info-Handicap.
