SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde has announced that €1,740 has been presented to the charity by Talkwalker in support of one of their child protection programmes in Conakry in Guinea.

Last September, employees of Talkwalker, a platform that specialises in an idle content platform on the web and social media, embarked on a sporting challenge for a good cause. With the help of mobile applications, each employee recorded the kilometers he ran, freely - no fixed destination or other constraints - between 1 and 30 September. 26 employees participated in this solidarity action for a total of 1,740 kms. For each kilometer run, the direction of Talkwalker pledged to give €1. Finally, €1,740 was raised and has been presented to SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde for a programme focusing on child protection that the association supports in Conakry in Guinea, which is among the least developed in the world terms of socio-economic development.

Strengthening 1,000 children and 300 families in Conakry

Lara Alves and Activities Committee members have presented a cheque to Sophie Glesener, director of SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde, and Sonia Dos Santos, responsible for partnerships for the association, at the offices of the young Luxembourg SME (directed by Robert Glaesener), a leader in his field. Sophie Glesener warmly thanked the management and participants from Talkwalker for this great initiative and for their generosity: "It's wonderful to be able to transform a sporting challenge in a gesture of solidarity for children in need. Our SOS programme in Conakry focuses on their protection and welfare." Children's rights are at the heart of this programme that has been implemented in the Guinean capital for 1,000 children and 300 families. Specifically, SOS is working to strengthen the community for it to provide its children with decent living conditions and a stimulating environment in which to grow peacefully, become independent and build real projects of the future.
