On Monday, Alexandra Oxacelay, director of the association "Stëmm vun der Strooss", received a cheque worth €2,500 from Caroline Hay, member of the Pro Bono Committee at the law firm Allen & Overy.
This sum was collected thanks to employees and lawyers of Allen & Overy who participated in various runs during the 2016 edition of the ING Marathon.
At the cheque presentation ceremony, 5 employees of Allen & Overy had the opportunity to have lunch in Stëmm’s social restaurant, located at 7 rue de la Fonderie in Hollerich, where an average of 250 meals are served each day to people in need.
Stëmm moved into these new premises 2 years ago, and they are already too small. On occasion during lunch times the doors have to be closed because they are only allowed to host 118 people in there at the same time.
Alexandra Oxacelay stated "We hope that other people will also want to support Stëmm through participating in the 2017 edition of the ING Marathon so that Stëmm can in the future serve meals to all the people who come to the social restaurant."
