Iles de Paix is an NGO that trains and supports thousands of farmers to improve their food security and quality of life in a sustainable and autonomous manner, in Burkina
Faso, Benin, Tanzania and Peru, helping directly over 300,000 people.
Iles de Paix (Islands of Peace) was founded in Belgium in 1965 by Dominique Pire, Nobel Peace Prize winner, and has been present for over 50 years in Luxembourg.
The NGO and its partners support enterprising men and women who want to break the cycle of poverty; they help farmers increase their crop rather than offer them bags of rice which takes longer and is more difficult, but the effect will be much more durable. They produce more food and earn money to take care of their families. They will come out better because they have "learned to fish."
Iles de Paix in Luxembourg contributes to the training and informs the public on how it is working for a better world.
