On Wednesday 20 August 2025, Luxembourg's employment agency, ADEM, reported that the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate, as calculated by STATEC, remained stable at 5.9%.

The number of resident jobseekers registered with ADEM stood at 18,396 on 31 July 2025, an increase of 495 people (+2.8%) compared to July 2024. This increase mainly concerns jobseekers aged over 45 and those with higher education qualifications, particularly in sectors such as accounting, secretarial/administrative support, information technology, and road transport driving.

ADEM also recorded 2,857 new resident registrations in July, an increase of 301 people or 11.8% compared to July 2024. At the same time, the number of resident jobseekers receiving full unemployment benefits decreased by 319 people (-3.1%) over one year, to stand at 9,929 as of 31 July. The number of beneficiaries of an employment measure stood at 4,203, a slight decline (–2.8%) compared to July 2024.

Employers reported 3,328 job vacancies to ADEM during July, a 4.1% decline from July 2024. At the end of the month, 6,747 jobs were still available, a decrease of 10.5% year-on-year. This decline particularly concerns jobs in accounting, construction and road transport driving staff.
