The 10th official presentation ceremony of the 'Corporate Social Responsibility' ESR label, organised by the Institut national pour le développement durable et la responsabilité sociale des entreprises (INDR), took place on Thursday 26 November 2015 at the Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

On this occasion, the ESR label was officially delivered to 27 companies (17 new companies, plus 10 renewed) having successfully met the criteria of the INDR labeling procedure.

Themed by the European Commission as a vital issue, corporate social responsibility (CSR) is becoming an essential strategic tool for business leaders. CSR is an opportunity for each company to improve its governance, strengthen its social commitment and to limit its environmental impact. The company ensures its own survival while contributing to sustainable development.

The ESR labeled companies have understood the benefits of CSR that provides real competitive advantages by improving the company's reputation; its ability to attract and retain employees and customers; commitment, motivation and productivity of its employees; and relationships with suppliers, governments, competitors, the media, NGOs, i.e. with the society in which companies operate.

In his welcome address, Michel Wurth, chairman of INDR and UEL, conveyed the congratulations of Nicolas Schmit, Luxembourg's Minister of Labour, Employment and Social economy, prevented at the last minute from attending due to committments related to the EU Presidency. He said he was delighted to have nearly 100 companies labeled ESR in Luxembourg in 5 years of operation of the ESR label. Labeled companies play their full role of exemplary companies, good practices in support.
