Luxembourg's Ministry for Digitalisation has reported that it organised the third edition of the National Digital Inclusion Day at Forum Geesseknäppchen in Luxembourg-Merl on Friday 17 May 2024.
In the morning, Stéphanie Obertin, Luxembourg's Minister for Digitalisation, delivered the welcome address at the launch event, namely the Interdisciplinary Forum on Digital Inclusion. This forum regularly brings together representatives of associations and organisations committed to the digital inclusion of their members. The aim of the forum, according to the ministry, is to share everyone's experiences to find appropriate ways to include all target audiences in the digital age.
During her speech, Minister Obertin thanked the participants in this fourth Interdisciplinary Forum for their unwavering commitment. "I am convinced that only a collaborative approach between all of you and between your sectors of activity will allow us to achieve our goals," she said, adding: "You are doing vital work on the ground. You are in the best position to assess how digital affects your target audience and what needs and expectations these people have in everyday life."
The minister also thanked the associations which contributed to the success of the third National Digital Inclusion Day by organising various activities for digital inclusion across the country throughout the week. From Monday 13 to Friday 17 May 2024, a programme consisting of workshops, training courses and conferences focused on digital inclusion was offered to the public in various regions.
In the afternoon, the general public was invited to the Digital Inclusion Fair to meet about 30 companies or public entities who presented and provided explanations on their digital products. Among those present were representatives of the Digital Learning Hub, Guichet.lu, BGL BNP Paribas, CMCM, Payconiq, BeeSecure, Girls in Tech and Luxtrust. Minister Obertin also toured the stands to meet the exhibitors and visitors to the Digital Inclusion Fair.
