Design Friends, a Luxembourg non-profit organisation bringing together people who are interested in design and its creation, has announced two upcoming events: a lecture on "New Tendency" product design and a special screening of the documentary "Mau".

Lecture

Design Friends is organising a lecture (in English) on product design by New Tendency, a Berlin-based design studio that applies Modernist design principles onto contemporary, everday objects, at Mudam Luxembourg on Wednesday 23 February 2022, from 18:30 to 20:00.

Entry is free. CovidCheck rules apply.

Film screening

Design Friends is organising, in collaboration with Luxembourg City Film Festival (LuxFilmFest), a screening (in English) of Benji and Jono Bergmann's documentary "Mau" at Ciné Utopia in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg on Monday 7 March 2022 at 18:30.

Mau follows the unlikely story of design visionary Bruce Mau and his ever-optimistic push for massive change. Over the span of his career, he has expanded the definition of design. From creating Coca-Cola's global sustainability platform to rethinking a 1,000-year plan for Mecca. From working with the greatest living architects like Rem Koolhaas and Frank Gehry to designing a social movement in Guatemala. As this documentary weaves in and out of Mau's work, past and present, it follows his most important project yet: his own life.

Design Friends members have access to a free ticket (as long as places are available).
