The 3rd edition of SpaceResourcesWeek.lu, a major event and world first focusing exclusively on the exploration and use of resources in space, will take place in Luxembourg from 19 to 22 April 2021.

The event is organised and coordinated by the European Space Resources Innovation Centre (ESRIC), with the support of the Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA), the European Space Agency (ESA), the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), International Space University and the Colorado School of Mines.

Organised in phygital mode, the Space Resources Week will bring together over 115 international speakers during four days to take stock of the development of the space resource use sector. More than 1,000 people from all over the world have signed up to follow the various seminars that focus on the latest discoveries as well as new concrete use cases for space resources, the international legal framework and on funding methods for the research and development of new technologies.

During the launch ceremony, which will take place on Monday afternoon at Luxexpo The Box in Luxembourg-Kirchberg, Luxembourg's Minister of the Economy, Franz Fayot, will be the opening keynote to set the stage for the conference and give an overview of the evolution of the sector in Luxembourg. This will be followed by a speech by Dr Josef Aschbacher who will speak, in his new role as Director General of ESA, on the European space policy and on the relations between the ESA and the Grand Duchy.
