The University of Luxembourg has announced two upcoming conferences for October: one on "Attracting start-up founders and entrepreneurs from third countries" on Tuesday 1 October and another on "Space Solutions for Sustainability on Earth" on Friday 4 October 2019.

The first event, "Attracting start-up founders and entrepreneurs from third countries", will look at how the EU can remain a globally competitive player by finding better ways to attract innovative migrant entrepreneurs and support those already present in the EU. This annual national conference offers a broad overview of several startup schemes from across and beyond the EU. Among the confirmed speakers are Werner Hoyer, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the European Investment Bank (EIB), and Corinne Cahen, Minister for Family Affairs and Integration. The event starts at 09:00 next Tuesday at the Maison de Savoir on Belval campus. To participate, register before 23 September 2019 at https://emnconference.uni.lu/.

The second event is a full day-event dedicated to "Space Solutions for Sustainability on Earth". More specifically, the conference will focus on domestic environmental aspects and the use of space technologies to support policymakers by using selected European space programmes, Copernicus and Galileo. Above all, it addresses Luxembourg's strategy under the environmental objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event starts at 09:00 next Friday at the Chamber of Deputies in Luxembourg-ville (19 Rue du Marché-aux-Herbes, L-1728).
