On Sunday 30 March 2025, from 16:00 to 20:00, the Pakistan Association of Luxembourg Asbl (PAL) will organise a celebration for Eid ul-Fitr at the Machera cultural centre in Grevenmacher (Place du Marché aux Bestiaux, L-6731).
Eid al-Fitr, also known as the “festival of breaking the fast”, is one of two major holidays celebrated by Muslims and commemorates the end of the holy month of Ramadan, in which Muslims fast daily from before dawn until sunset.
“It’s a good opportunity to connect people from diverse backgrounds and embrace the sanctity of Eid. It also revives our culture amongst our generations to follow,” said Farah Aamir, Board Member of PAL.
The event will include a traditional Pakistani dinner buffet, offering a selection of authentic dishes and live BBQ. Additionally, cultural activities will be organised to provide participants with an immersive experience of Pakistan’s rich heritage.
A special guest of the evening will be Rahim Hayat Qureshi, the Pakistani Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg.
According to the PAL, the celebration is open to all residents of Luxembourg and those interested in Pakistani cultural festivities, regardless of background, nationality or faith.
Tickets cost €40 for adults and €20 for children aged seven to fourteen; free entry for children under the age of seven. For further details, visit https://www.facebook.com/events/619289914220232
