A solidarity initiative organised by the parents’ association of Groussbous-Dellen has raised €565 for the benefit of Stëmm vun der Strooss.
Each week, parents of students made cakes for students to sell during the lunch break every Thursday between 27 April and 22 June 2017. The money raised was donated to the non-profit organisation Stëmm vun der Strooss.
In 2016, the Stëmm vun der Strooss served 100,130 meals in the social restaurants of Hollerich and Esch-sur-Alzette, offered 575 free consultations by Dr. Stëmm's volunteer doctors, redistributed free of charge 137 tons of foodstuffs under the Stëmm Caddy, rehoused 30 people as part of Immo Stëmm, and housed 18 more people in the post-therapeutic centre of Schoenfels. As well as this, it supervised 249 people on five sites in workshops for professional reintegration.
The funds raised by the student-parent cake selling event will be used to further these causes.
