The Association Luxembourgeoise pour le Dialogue Interculturel (ALDIC) has announced the launch of the WïFï project (We Inspire Face-to-face Interaction), an initiative designed to address digital overuse and foster offline engagement among young people aged 12 to 18 years in Luxembourg.
The project aims to create a safe and creative offline space where young people can redirect their focus from online platforms to real-world activities. Through dynamic workshops inspired by popular online platforms, such as TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, participants will have the opportunity to enhance their creativity, develop new skills, and build meaningful connections.
Key Activities:
- Creative Movement Workshop (Inspired by TikTok): Learn dance styles and choreography in an expressive and collaborative environment.
- Photography Exploration (Inspired by Instagram): Discover photography techniques and explore visual storytelling.
- DJing and Music Production (Inspired by YouTube): Create and mix music while discovering the fundamentals of music production.
- Interactive Theatre Experience (Inspired by WhatsApp and Snapchat): Engage in role-playing and improvisation to foster communication skills.
Project Objectives:
1. Encourage empathy and connections between young people with shared interests.
2. Enhance creative skills through offline engagement.
3. Promote awareness of responsible social media use while offering enriching real-world alternatives.
The WïFï project runs from January to June 2025, with workshops taking place in various locations across Luxembourg. Over 100 young participants will explore activities such as dance, yoga, photography and music production while fostering intercultural dialogue and teamwork.
Workshop Schedule Highlights:
- Workshops: 1 February 2025 – 31 May 2025 (sixteen workshops in total).
- Final Showcase: 1 – 10 June 2025: A celebratory event where participants showcase their skills and achievements.
