On Thursday 19 November 2015, Stëmm vun der Strooss (SVDS) received a cheque for €5,000 from the two non-profit associations of Dippech hëlleft and Kleiderborse Capellen.
The cheque was presented to SVDS Director Alexandra Oxacelay by Dippech hëlleft President John Bei and President of Kleiderbörse Capellen, Evelyne Geschwindt.
Dippech helleft is based in Schouweiler, whilst Kleiderbörse Capellen collects and sells second-hand clothing for women and children as well as books and toys to those in need, the proceeds of which are then donated to good causes such as Stëmm vun der Strooss.
The funds will be used for the annual Stëmm vun der Strooss Christmas party which has also received the financial support of the Thierry Van Werveke Foundation, an association which aims to help young people in trouble. The SVDS Christmas party will take place on 17 December 2015, providing a Christmas meal and presents to an estimated 350 people in need. Five volunteers will be on hand to help out alongside Stëmm vun der Strooss staff, to guarantee a smooth and entertaining evening for all guests.
