Funds raised by the special edition of high quality porcelain pieces has seen ceramics manufacturer Villeroy & Boch award a cheque of €11,680 to the Luxembourg Red Cross.

For the 2014 Jubilee Year, Villeroy & Boch celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Luxembourg branch of the Red Cross with the design and sale of an exclusive limited edition porcelain range. For every individual dish sold, €10 was donated directly to the Luxembourg Red Cross, and will now contribute to refugee support projects here and further afield.

"We are very excited to able to provide financial support for the projects of the venerable Luxembourg Red Cross, thanks to our Luxembourg-designed limited edition," said Nicolas Luc Villeroy, Head of Tableware Division at Villeroy & Boch AG.

"We are very grateful to Villeroy & Boch for their participation in the celebration of the hundred year Jubilee of the Luxembourg Red Cross," added Michel Simonis, Director General at the Luxembourg Red Cross. "The proceeds from this cooperation between two traditional actors of Luxembourg is going to projects of national solidarity to support out mst vulnerable citizens."

The exclusive edition was designed by and manufactured solely during the 2014 Jubilee by Villeroy & Boch, to support the Luxembourg Red Cross for the organisation's centennial of operation in the fields of humanitarian and emergency aid, blood donations, care services and centres, and social and therapeutic support.
