Under the Luxembourg City Film Festival, the winners of the double 'Crème Fraîche' competition were announced at the 5th awards ceremony held last Saturday at Utopolis.
The competition, organised by the SNJ and CNA, was divided into two categories. In the '60 Sekonne Clips' component, 34 projects were submitted and an eventual 20 videos shortlisted and screened. Three winners were chosen through public voting during the ceremony, whilst two clips received the encouragement award:
- 1st Prize: Angry Chick by Gabriel Ohresser.
- 2nd Prize: King of the World by Magali Speicher.
- 3rd Prize: De klengen Zauberer by Ben Schaus, Michel Kuffer and Laurent Maas
- Prize of Encouragement: The Potion by Clémentine Guitton-Spassky; Wundersame Welt by Josephine Tandel, Eryka Steffen and Miranda Bast.
In the 'Scénario' category, a jury composed of the three young adults Idder Boukcha, Ken D'Antonio and Sam Herschbach and three experts from the film industry in the form of Alessandra Lucano, president of the jury, CNA; Anne-Marie Krettels, Luxfilmfest; and Claude Lahr, director; selected three winners from the 15 projects submitted:
- 1st Prize: 818 by Mathieu Caboche
- 2nd Prize: Goal by Daniel Di Vincenzo
- 3rd Prize: Vienna by Laura Cleven
Mathieu's winning screenplay will be professionally produced and directed by the CNA and SNJ in 2016. The screenplay winner of last year's festival, 'Un ange pass' by Louis-Arthur Jeanjean, was directed and produced by the CNA and the SNJ and was presented for the first time to the public at the ceremony under the new name 'Camille'. The screening was followed by a discussion with Louis-Arthur and Julien Becker, the film's director.
Three young students from the BTS Cinéma et Audiovisuel du Luxembourg also unveiled a preview of their short films, 'Lea' by Roxanne Pequet, 'Diversion' by Nathaniel Alves and 'Smartass' by Thoma and Tullio Forgiarini, co-produced by the SNJ with Feierblumm ASBL.
