The Autism Foundation Luxembourg has organised an exhibition of paintings entitled TableAu'tisme from 21 September to 18 October 2017 in order to finance services for people with autism.
For more than 20 years, the Autism Foundation Luxembourg (FAL) has been helping people with autism, regardless of the severity of their autism. More than 1 in 150 people is affected by autism, meaning more than 3,900 people in Luxembourg.
To support its projects and, among others, holiday camps for children and adolescents, the FAL is organising a painting exhibition called TableAu'tisme with the support of COPAS, which will provide the premises for this event. COPAS is an organisation that brings together nursing homes, retirement homes, facilities for the disabled and home support networks.
Among the artists from the nineteenth century to the present day featured in this exhibition are Moritz Ney, Ferdinand d'Huart, Aloyse Bové, Lily Unden, Arnold Stoffels, Germaine Spiesse, Sandrien, Eugène Schergen, Josée Ackermann-Bettendorff, Roger Steffen and Jean-Pierre Calteux.
The works to be discovered mainly represent still life, landscapes and contemporary abstract paintings.
The vernissage will be held on Thursday 21 September from 17:00, followed by a speech by Marc Fischbach, President of COPAS and Claude Schmit, President of the Autism Foundation Luxembourg, accompanied by Baroque music by Tanguy Neumann on the harpsichord.
The exhibition will take place between 21 September and 18 October from 8:00-17:00 Monday to Friday.
