On Wednesday 25 September 2024, SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde reported that it had recently received a donation from BorgWarner.

At the end of June 2024, the social committee of BorgWarner in Luxembourg, part of a global company active in the field of clean and efficient technological solutions for combustion vehicles, organised a "Cook & Donate" event, serving dishes from around the world. Employees prepared these delicacies voluntarily for a good cause and raised €1,841 for SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde, which supports children and young people, and their families and communities, around the world.

The committee members handed a cheque to Anne Schweizer, Partnerships Officer, during a visit to the company’s offices in Hautcharage. This was also an opportunity for the non-profit to present the projects it finances, particularly the beneficiary project: the construction of a school in Morocco. After BorgWarner Moves, this culinary event was the Luxembourg team's second initiative for children without adequate family care.

The donation will contribute to the construction and equipment of a school (eventually for 500 students) and a boarding school (for 50 girls) in Aït Ourir near Marrakech, Morocco. The aim is for the children and young people, particularly girls, of the municipality to return to school and receive a quality education after the earthquake of 2023.
